I am excited and proud to share all about what happened at UpGrad’s first BaseCamp in Singapore held on 19th of May. After seeing an amazing response to our BaseCamps in various Indian cities, we decided to start BaseCamps for our learners in Southeast Asia.
UpGrad BaseCamp acts as a physical platform for extensive peer to peer learning, idea exchange and networking with the aim to bring learners from across cohorts together and help them bond to form a strong alumni community.
As a part of the event, a workshop was conducted by Matthew Lim, who is the Founder and Managing Director of WE! Interactive. Here’s how the whole experience turned out for a couple of students present there. Two of our student’s from UpGrad’s Executive Program in Strategic Digital Marketing in collaboration with Cambridge Judge Business School Executive Education – shared their BaseCamp experience with us.
Roland Yap is the Former Vice Chairman (ASEAN Committee), US-ASEAN Business Council and Supakom Khamsuk is the Senior Account Executive of MRM. They are not only from different cities (Singapore and Bangkok) but from different batches (April and January) as well.
UpGrad Student Athul Uday on Rethinking Marketing Frameworks
Supakom said, “Last Saturday, we were glad to be part of UpGrad’s inaugural BaseCamp in Singapore. We worked in groups of three to solve a real-life case study on a co-working space provider developed by Matthew”.
“It was an excellent opportunity for us to connect the dots between real-world industry practices and academic knowledge gained during the program. We got a chance to meet our peer-group. The same guys who take part in the UpGrad Learning App discussions. What a small world!” said Roland. “…more importantly, it was an excellent occasion to network amongst course mates with different backgrounds and experiences. The sharing of knowledge and views amongst learners and the facilitator (Matthew) helped all of us experience and better understand the key best practices in the marketing industry.”
We are proud to know that, our students have been highly satisfied with the program in terms of content, recognition and networking opportunities with industry mentors and other learners. They found the curriculum of the program to be extremely well-structured, which allows it to be relevant and suitable for learners with or without marketing backgrounds.
