What kind of projects will I be expected to complete in the program?

There are three types of projects that you will be working on during the program. First, there are 4 individual projects which come at the end of every course. These projects are meant to test your understanding of the concepts covered in a particular course. Second, there is an industry-based mentor-led internship, where you will be working on an actual problem statement from a reputed company and proposing a solution for the same. Over and above these, there are 7 optional projects which you can solve to further advance your domain knowledge in data science.

Due to the hands-on nature of our courses, you will need a laptop to participate in classes. Please be aware that while trial versions of paid software can be used initially, any subsequent use of these tools will require you to cover the costs. Moreover, if you wish to use tools that require OpenAI credits, you will be responsible for those expenses as well.

While the program is designed in such a way that learners who do not have coding experience can learn the required programming skills and increase their chances of completing the program, it is recommended that the learner has a keen interest in coding and statistics.

What is the admission process to join this program?

Accepted Answer

Learners can go to the “upgrad.com” website and login/sign up into their upGrad account. Then, fill out the application form with all the basic information. Once the screening is done (takes 2-3 mins), learners can make the initial admission fee payment of INR 5000 which will activate the “learn.upgrad.com” portal to access the demo class. Within the next 7 days, the balance amount can be paid to complete the enrollment process and get added to the batch.

Is there any financial aid provided under this program?

No, we do not offer any financial aid for any of our programs, but we do have scholarships available which are subject to availability, seats left in the batch and GPA/percentage of educational qualifications.

What kind of live support can I expect in the program?

You will be assigned an upGrad Buddy (UB) at the beginning of the program. The role of your UB is to help you through your course and assess your progress along the way. UBs are there to guide you through any queries or issues you may have during the program. In addition, you will also be guided by industry experts who will conduct the live sessions and technical mentors who will assist you with doubt resolution in sessions and discussion forums.

What if I am unable to complete the program in the given time frame?

Learners must complete the program in defined timelines in order to be eligible for a completion certificate. In case of any such gaps, kindly get in touch with your UB.

Do you have a deferral policy? How does it work?

Accepted Answer

Please refer to the below-mentioned deferral policy

Pre-Cohort Commencement Deferral:
- If a learner wishes to defer their enrollment to a future cohort before the start of their original cohort, the learner should reach out to the support team prior to the start of their original cohort.
- In the event of an accepted deferral, upGrad does not guarantee the same cohort timings/ schedule/ pattern as the cohort assigned at the time of enrolment.
- Every learner is allowed only 1 (one) deferral after their balance closure before their cohort commencement date into a cohort that commences within the next 60 days.
Post-Cohort Commencement Deferral:
- If a Learner is unable to commence with the assigned cohort due to unavoidable circumstances or is facing severe issues in dedicating time to the Course as informed and accepted by upGrad or has medical issues after the Cohort Commencement Date – subject to receipt of a written request for a deferral from such Learner (through support manager and explaining the specific reason for such request, an opportunity to defer the enrolment to another cohort may be provided at the behest of upGrad. However, after deferment, the course progress shall reset (shall not be transferred to the new cohort) and the Learner shall have to start the course from the beginning.
- A learner can request a deferral at any time up to two months after the cohort commencement date. The deferral can be requested only once and must be for one of the scheduled cohorts starting within the next 3 months from the initial cohort start date.
- A deferral fee of 10% (ten percent) of the Total Program Fee as mentioned in this offer letter shall be applicable for each deferral.
- A request for deferral shall be considered for execution only after the receipt of the deferral fee (as may be applicable) by upGrad, within 7 (seven) calendar days of raising the deferral request. Till such payment is received by upGrad, the Learner shall be assumed to be continuing in the same cohort.
- In the event of an accepted deferral, upGrad does not guarantee the same cohort timings/ schedule/ pattern as the cohort assigned at the time of enrolment.

Do you have a refund policy?

Block amount: Non-refundable under any circumstances.
Balance Course Fee: Learners shall be eligible to seek cancellation of their enrollment and claim a refund of the Balance Course Fee at any time before the Cohort commencement date only, by raising a cancellation and refund request in writing through the support manager explaining the specific reason for such request for cancellation and refund. If a request for deferral from a Learner has been approved by upGrad, such Learner shall be eligible to claim for a refund of the Balance Course Fee at any time before the commencement date of the first deferred Cohort only subject to deferral clause mentioned below.
Refund shall be processed to an eligible learner within 30 working days from the date of receipt of the refund request from the applicant learner in this regard. The refund shall be issued using the original payment method.

You shall not be eligible for a refund of any amount paid towards the Program in case any discrepancy is identified between your application and self-attested documents including but not limited to wrong details about your grades or any other incorrect information provided in your application.

The balance course fee is non-refundable under any circumstances other than the above-mentioned scenario.
