The Master of Law (Research) offers students the opportunity to undertake supervised research in the related discipline of their choice. The program fosters the development of independent research skills, making it ideal preparation for those looking to undertake further research through a PhD program and/or pursue a career in research.

International Relations is the most controversial, dynamic and exciting area of political science. This program suite has a strong practitioner focus and is highly relevant for people working in - or aspiring to work in, government and international organisations. Topics covered include international security, human rights, religion and identity politics, diplomacy and statecraft, political economy and global governance. The masters degree expands on the international relations knowledge you'll gain in the graduate certificate.

The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree is undertaken as a supervised program of original research. It is suited to those with some research training and experience, but who do not meet the eligibility criteria for direct entry into the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). The depth of research required for a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) is less than that required for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). In some cases, it is possible to use the Master of Philosophy as a pathway to upgrade to a Doctor of Philosophy. The Master of Philosophy is completed within a minimum period of 1 year full-time and a maximum period of 2 years full-time, or the part-time equivalent. Students with limited research training or experience are advised to undertake the Master of Research (MRes).
