The admission procedures at the University of Cincinnati include following specific processes and adhering to prescribed timelines. Following is an overview of the admission process.

Application Review

Applications for the main Uptown Campus are reviewed carefully. The admission team looks at your academic achievements and personal experiences. There are no fixed GPA or test score requirements. They evaluate your overall profile and how you could contribute to the campus community.

Early Action Decision Timeline

Prospective candidates who submit their applications by the Early Action deadline of December 1 can expect to receive admission outcomes during Cincinnati Decision Day, scheduled for late January or early February. This timeline is applicable across all programs except for students to the College-Conservatory of Music, who are required to undergo auditions and will receive their decisions by March at the latest.

Factors Considered During Application Review:

  • Official High School Transcript: The admission team reviews your GPA, courses, and grade trends to evaluate your academic success.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Show your involvement outside the classroom. This could include school organizations, volunteer work, or other activities.
  • ACT/SAT Test Scores: Although UC offers test-optional admission during the fall 2024 and fall 2023 terms, some programs, such as the College of Nursing Direct-Admit BSN, may require test scores.
  • Auditions and Interviews: Music and Nursing applicants may need auditions or interviews for admission.
