General Admission Prerequisites

  • For UG admissions, a minimum overall average of 85% in your top six Grade 12 courses (or equivalent) is generally recommended. However, specific programs might have higher requirements.
  • For PG admissions, a minimum of a 75% overall average in your previous degree (typically a four-year Bachelor's degree) is required. Some programs might have higher requirements. 
  • If English is not your first language, you may need to fulfill the university’s English language proficiency requirements.
  • Certain programs might require scores from standardized tests like the GRE (Graduate Record Examinations) or GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test).

Documents Required

For admission to the University of Waterloo, you must submit the following documents via Quest: your high school transcript, mid-term grades, and proof of enrollment for next term’s courses. 

English language test results may be required if you’re from a non-English speaking country. If your transcripts are not in English, English-language copies are required.
