The All India Ayush Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET) is a national-level examination for admissions to postgraduate courses in various disciplines of Ayurveda. With around 36,469 students appearing for AIAPGET in 2023, clearing this exam requires rigorous preparation. What is AIAPGET

Since 2019, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has been conducting AIAPGET on behalf of the Ministry of AYUSH/NCH/NCISM with the Ministry of Education’s approval. Students who successfully clear this exam can gain admission to MS/MD courses in various specialties of Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Siddha, and Unani at AYUSH colleges and universities.

AIAPGET Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the AIAPGET entrance exam are as follows:

  • Students must have a valid degree or provisional pass certificate of BUMS/BAMS/BSMS/BHMS/Graded BHMS from a recognized institute. 
  • They must be close to completing a one-year internship per the NCH/NCISM notification. During counseling, students will be asked to submit the original compulsory rotatory internship completion certificate as proof. 
  • Students must possess a provisional or permanent registration certificate of BUMS/BAMS/BSMS/BHMS/Graded BHMS that has been issued by the State Board, Central Council of Homeopathy(CCH), Central Council of Indian Medicine(CCIM), or the Central Council of Homeopathy(CCH).

AIAPGET Registration

Students can follow the given steps to register for AIAPGET: 

  1. Visit the official website to apply for the AIAPGET exam.
  2. Keep the following documents ready while starting your application process:
    1. A valid government ID proof like an Aadhaar card, passport, election card, bank account number, PAN card, or ration card.
    2. 10th board certificate for proof of birth date.  
    3. Details of your academic qualifications.
    4. A clear passport-size photograph in JPEG/JPG format. The size should be between 10 and 200 kb. It should show at least 80% of your face, without a mask, including your ears. The picture should be black & white taken against a white background.
    5. A clear scanned picture of your signature in JPEG/JPG format. The acceptable size is between 4 and 30 kb.
    6. PwD certificate, if applicable, in PDF format. The size should be between 50 and 300 kb.
    7. Bank account details for paying the application fee
    8. List of your preferred cities.
    9. Your valid email ID and phone number on which important information will be shared. 
    10. Your valid debit/credit card or net banking account for online payment
  3. Read the information bulletin carefully to understand the eligibility requirements and the application process.
  4. Register online on the platform using your valid email address and mobile number.
  5. Fill in the application form and note your unique application number for future reference.
  6. Upload the scanned images of your signature, photograph, and PwD certificate(if required).
  7. Pay the application fee and keep the proof of successful payment.

AIAPGET Admit Card

Upon meeting the eligibility criteria and successfully enrolling for the exam, the admit cards for AIAPGET will be issued in the candidate's name. 

  • You can download the admit card from NTA’s website.
  • The admit card will mention the examination's date, timing, and discipline.
  • Read the instructions on the admit card thoroughly and follow the same during your exam.

AIAPGET Result

The AIAPGET results will be declared on NTA’s official website, and the candidates will not be given physical scorecards.

Here are a few things to note regarding the AIAPGET exam results:

  • NTA does not entertain requests for re-evaluation of the test or re-totaling of the scores.
  • The reservation criteria or number of seat availability are not known to NTA but only to the respective universities. 
  • If you obtain the same marks as another candidate, the following  tie-breaker rules will be followed:
    • Candidates with fewer negative responses will be prioritized.
    • The older candidate will be given preference. 
    • Candidates who have obtained higher marks in their BUMS/BAMS/BSMS/BHMS course will be given a better position in the merit list.

AIAPGET Counselling

The qualified AIAPGET candidates will be called for counseling by the AYUSH Admissions Central Counseling Committee (AACCC). Here are a few things to note about the procedure:

  • You must register yourself on the official website of the Ayush Admissions Central Counseling Committee (AACCC).
  • A non-refundable registration fee and security deposit needs to be paid while registering on the portal.
  • The security deposit will be confiscated if you do not join the institute.
  • Final admission will depend on the merit, reservation policies, and eligibility criteria of the institute.

FAQs

Is there any option to challenge the provisional answer keys of the AIAPGET exam?

Yes, once the provisional answer keys are released on https://aiapget.nta.nic.in/, you can challenge them. However, you must pay a non-refundable fee of INR 200 online per question. The NTA will make the final call in response to the challenges and release the final answer keys.  Once the results are declared, no more queries will be entertained. 

If I do not answer a question on AIAPGET, will I be negatively marked?

No, there is no negative marking for no answer. However, one mark will be deducted if you give wrong answers. So, it is better not to answer a question if you are unsure.

Can the AIAPGET entrance exam fee be refunded if I don’t appear for the test?

No, under no circumstances will the application fee be refunded. There is no provision to carry forward this fee as well.

What are the cut-off marks for AIAPGET?

Aspirants must secure a minimum percentile of marks to qualify for the All India Ayush Post Graduate Entrance Examination. AIAPGET tentative cut-offs for general and ST/SC/OBC categories are 50 percentile and 40 percentile, respectively. Candidates from the UR-PH and ST/SC/OBC-PH categories must achieve 45 and 40 percentiles, respectively.
