Essay on Coronavirus: Sample 1

The world has seldom been rattled by a disaster of such monumental proportions as the coronavirus pandemic. It took little time for this invisible and silent killer to devastate global populations, taking lives, and disrupting economies to deadly effect. The coronavirus pandemic saw almost all global nations imposing periodic lockdowns to contain the virus. Other measures included the compulsory wearing of masks, using sanitizers, and adherence to other public health and safety guidelines.

This also led to a negative effect on the global economy, leading to large-scale job cuts, business losses, and financial instability for a large chunk of the global population. Demand trickled down to a whimper, while most nations battled the unimaginable load on their healthcare and medical ecosystems while striving to lower the daily death toll and infections alike. It was a harrowing time for most of us, no matter where we were stationed.

Essay on Coronavirus: Sample 2

The COVID-19 or coronavirus pandemic has changed our lives forever. Many of us have lost family, friends, colleagues, and acquaintances to the deadly virus. Many of us have been facing inflation, economic instability, and other issues as a result of its impact on the economy. Governments have been fighting it out to lower death rates, keep their healthcare systems afloat, and make citizens adhere to public health and safety guidelines.

Three waves have passed, with the first two contributing sizably towards fatalities. There are talks of a fourth wave in some countries. As per the WHO (World Health Organisation) figures, the confirmed deaths stood at 6 305 358 globally with 532 201 219 confirmed cases. However, 11 854 673 610 vaccines have been given globally as well. One can only pray that we continue a wave of normalcy with no further outbreaks and a decline in the intensity of the virus.
