Q. What is the cost of studying in the UK?

The actual cost of studying in the UK is different for everyone. Everything from your city, your lifestyle, and your course would influence this cost. However, one should have an estimate of how much it will cost so that one can plan one's finances accordingly.

1. College Fees

The first cost that you have to consider is your course fee. It will change with every course and its level, but here's a general idea. Depending on the level of their study, we have listed the anticipated prices for international students here. The minimum amount that you can expect to spend is £11,400. But this can go up to £38,000 in some cases.

Tuition for postgraduate degrees ranges from £9,000 to £30,000, with an average annual cost of £17,109. Again, some courses may cost less, while courses related to fields like medicine would be more expensive.

2. Visa Fees

When you come to the UK from another country, you have to pay some fees for your visa. If you are in the UK on a graduate visa, you have to pay an application cost of £822. In addition, there is an annual £624 Immigration Health Surcharge that you must pay. Those who have a student visa will have to pay around £490 for it.

3. Living Costs

Apart from your college tuition, you need to pay for everything that you need for living, like accommodation, food, and entertainment. The average cost of rent while studying would be £750 per month in London, but anywhere else, it would be £554 for shared accommodation.

The cost of groceries is around £155 a month in London, which is more expensive. For other cities, it would be £116 per month.
