Q. What Percentage is Required to get a scholarship in the USA?

In the United States, though requirements vary greatly from scholarship program to institution offering one, most require you to have at least 90% or higher. Most countries base eligibility for scholarships purely on academic performance, but the U.S. takes a broader approach that includes an assortment of factors aside from grades alone--including health or non-academic backgrounds.

In America, most scholarships are merit-based. That is to say, they offer them only to students who demonstrate high academic records or outstanding leadership skills and community involvement, and other accomplishments of the same kind. Normally, candidates for merit-based scholarships must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a four scale. However, some scholarships require a higher GPA, usually 3.5 to 4.0 out of four points, and have a more competitive nature for awarding them.

Academic records aside, extracurricular activities and volunteer work, as well as positions of leadership, are also important prerequisites for scholarships to Study in the USA. Committees admit candidates who enrich both their academic community and wider society as being well-rounded individuals. There are also need-based scholarships, which grant financial aid to students in particular circumstances. These scholarships have no fixed average, but applicants must generally prove that they are in need through financial documents such as income statements and tax returns.

The requirements for each scholarship are different, so prospective students should very carefully look into and understand the specific conditions for everyone they hope to win. However, the financial aid office of any given institution is also a valuable resource for scholarship information. One can find out who to contact and how one should apply there or at some place outside their school.
