  • IELTS/TOEFL: Language proficiency test scores are another crucial requirement for Indian students and those from non-English speaking countries applying for a master's degree in the UK.
  • GMAT/GRE: Some universities in the UK may have specific requirements for master's programs, such as submitting GMAT or GRE test scores. This is particularly relevant and recommended for students pursuing STEM courses.
  • Work experience: When applying for a master's degree, having work experience is crucial for many expert-level courses like an MBA in the UK. However, some master's courses do not require mandatory work experience. It is recommended to visit the university's official website to obtain specific information.
  • Passport and visa: Having a valid passport and student visa is a mandatory requirement for all international students wishing to pursue any course at a university in the UK. Recipients of the Rhodes Scholarship have their Oxford University course fees covered and receive an annual stipend of £18,180/year, from which scholars pay all living expenses, including accommodation.

In addition, the scholarship covers student visa fees and the associated International Health Surcharge along with two economy-class flights for the beginning and end of studies in Oxford.

Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies

The scholarships offered by the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies are specifically designed to support graduates who wish to pursue studies that contribute to the advancement and welfare of the Muslim world.

The scholarship provides full course fee coverage and includes a grant to support living costs, which is at least £17,668.

GREAT scholarships

The University of Manchester, in partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, is providing eight scholarships to students from Bangladesh, Kenya, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, and Turkey. 

Students undertaking a one-year postgraduate program in the UK have the opportunity to receive a minimum of £10,000 in funding.

John Fisher High-Performance Scholarship

This scholarship aims to promote the growth of the High-Performance Computing (HPC) workforce by offering exceptional student funding for master's programs in HPC or HPC with Data Science.

Think Big Postgraduate Scholarship

 

International students have the opportunity to receive this scholarship for studying undergraduate and postgraduate programs at the University of Bristol.

Postgraduate international students can receive scholarship awards valued at £6,500, £13,000, and £26,000 per year, specifically intended to cover tuition fees. Additionally, eligible applicants may also qualify for a £3,000 living cost bursary during their first year of study.

Deadline for University Applications in the UK

There are two intakes – between September and October or January to February. Application deadlines may vary across universities.

Important deadlines that should be considered before applying for MS in UK are:

  • Deadlines for courses such as Medicine, Dentistry, and Veterinary Medicine fall in mid of October.
  • It is also essential to adhere to the UCAS deadline (usually mid-June for non EU/EEA applicants) as many universities do not accept bachelor’s applications once the UCAS portal is closed. UCAS is an application processing organization for British universities.
  • In August, UCAS undertakes the application clearing process where universities open for late applicants to be considered for vacant seats.

This new policy was unveiled in 2019, applicable to all students graduating in the year 2021 and even in the future. International students have to look for employment in the country within six months of their stay-back period for Tier-4 visas.
