History of Technical University of Ilmenau

The Technical University of Ilmenau was established in 1894. It was initially set up as a “Thüringisches Technikum”, a private training college. It then gained the official recognition of a Hochschule für Elektrotechnik (HfE) before becoming a Technische Hochschule (TH). 

Finally, in 1992, the institution was given the title of Technische Universität (TU).

Technical University of Ilmenau Requirements for Admission
