History of University of Freiburg

The university was founded in the year 1457, with the goal to offer education to all. It became the very first university in Germany that gave admission to females. There was no German university before this that had accepted the application from women students. There were several buildings and campuses that were built, out of which the center of Freiburg was the main building that was built in the year 1911.

University of Freiburg Requirements for Examination

English Language Examination: The University of Freiburg requires an entrance examination in terms of an English language proficiency test to test the proficiency in the English language among non-native English speakers. Here’s the required English language proficiency test with the minimum score: 

  • Cambridge ESOL: B2 First 
  • IELTS Academic: band 5.5
  • Oxford Online Placement Test: 60-79 
  • PTE Academic: 59 points 
  • TOEFL: 567 points

German language proficiency test: students taking admission to German courses, need to be proficient in the German language. Here are the tests and you need to take any one of the tests, as given below: 

  • German Language Examination for University Admission (DSH) with the result DSH-2 or -3.

University of Freiburg Admissions Requirements
