Infrastructure of the University of Birmingham

The University of Birmingham has campuses at Selly Oak and Edgbaston while offering research infrastructure and facilities like its Chemistry, Collaborative Teaching, and other laboratories in addition to research facilities. There is a Biomolecular NMR facility available along with a wet lab and the cardiovascular static, analytical, body composition, environmental and other laboratories. Other laboratories include those for human neurophysiology, human balance, lifestyle physical activity, microscope room and more. The language of instruction is English. 

Academics at the University of Birmingham

The admission cycle is usually from September to February. The University of Birmingham admission process is simple. UG applicants may apply via UCAS online from September. Postgraduate applications are directly submitted to the university. Those studying at partner global universities may join degree programmes as 2nd or 3rd year UG or master’s students, based on certain criteria. 

The University of Birmingham admission requirements include the following: 
A-Level or equivalent international qualifications. 

  • English language proficiency (IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 80, PTE 59-64). 
  • Standard XII/Higher Secondary Certificate with 65% from CBSE/ICSE/West Bengal State Board. 70% from other boards for foundation pathway programmes. 
  • Entry to the undergraduate programmes requires 75%-95% marks depending on the board and category. 
  • Postgraduate taught courses require four-year Bachelor’s degrees (upper-second or first class) or three-year bachelor’s degrees.
