California State University was the 12th state college, which got authorized by the legislature. This university was founded in the year 1959 as a State College and it got the identity of a university in the year 1972. Accreditation, Number of Students and Faculties

This university is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Other than this, this university has also received some other accreditations and recognitions such as The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, American Chemical Society, American Association of State Colleges and Universities, American Council on Education, Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities, California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council of Graduate Schools, Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, Council on Education of Public Health, Council on Social Work Education and others. This university also has an excellent faculty. There are over 1000 full-time faculty and 1500 part-time faculties. The teachers at this university are excellent in their fields and they have a knack for building a knowledge base for their students. As of fall 2020, this university has catered to the needs of at least 41000 students all over the world. Not only this, but this university also employs over 2000 academic staff and over 1500 administrative staff.

This university provides 105-degree programs along with some credentials and certificate programs. Some of the most popular fields of study at this university include Business Administration and Management General, Psychology, Speech Communication and Rhetoric, Health Service, and Health and Physical Education. The main campus of this university was established in the year 1950 but construction started in the early 1960s. The main construction had started under the direction of Howards Van Heuklyn who gave this campus a futuristic look. In modern times, this campus comes with a Satellite facility that is operated in Irvine, California. Along with this, the university has also established a Desert Studies Center in Zzyzx, California in the Mojave Desert. The main objective of this center is to conduct research on the Mojave Desert.

This university provides courses on a large number of subjects such as Accounting, African American Studies, Aging Studies, American Studies, Anthropology, Arts, Business Administration, Child, and Adolescent Studies, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Communication Sciences, and Disorders, Dance, Early Start English and Mathematics and so many others. Admission Eligibility Criteria

The admission criteria are different for first-year students and other students. First-year students need to fulfill the following criteria:

Have a school graduation or other equivalent certificate

Complete a 15-unit “A-G” pattern with a grade of at least -C for high school graduation 

The student will have to earn a Multi-Factor Admission Score in the form of “A-G” in overall GPA, “A-G” in Math GPA, “A-G” in English GPA, and some additional courses. However, the maximum number of courses can be 15. Applicant attributes, in this case, will include first-generation students (students who are the first to get a Bachelor’s degree in their family), free and reduced school lunch (Recipient of reduced lunch in school), and Youth Services ( Orphan, foster youth, and others). 

Documents, Test and Average Score Required

In order to apply for this university, the students will require to prepare application materials such as transcripts and test scores (AP, IB). Other than this, the students will also need to show the income of their family members, their social security number, and their citizenship status. Students from other countries will need to provide results of TOEFL or ILETS scores from accredited institutions. Other than this, student visas and documents for insurance requirements will also be needed.
