Since 1942, Central College has been regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. It has also been accredited by North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Some of the other program accreditation of the university include American Chemical Society, Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, Council on Accreditation of Strength and Conditioning, State of Iowa Board of Education, National Association of Schools of Music. The total graduate enrollment of the university is 1,139 (fall 2021). The university also records more than 100 academic staff. The student-faculty ratio of the college is 12:1.
University Campus, facilities, labs/courses
With a rural setting, the 200 acres campus of Central College is located only a few blocks away from the downtown square of Pella. The campus is two minutes away from the largest lake of Iowa, and 40 minutes away from Des Moines. Central is a residential campus, where students are able to stay in townhouses, dormitories, and apartment style ‘green pods’. The major buildings on the campus of Central College include Maytag Student Center, The Roe Center, Vermeer Science Center, Weller Center for Business and International Studies, Central Market, Geisler Library, and Kuyper Athletic Complex. The primary facilities offered to the students of Central College include housing and campus dining. Some of the other facilities include student services such as tutoring and writing hubs, student support services, counselling services, professional and career development and so on. Fine arts and athletics are other interesting facilities provided to the students of Central College. The 62-acre outdoor laboratory of the university enables students to use nature preserve for labs.
