Documents required

Every applicant is required to attach the list of the following documents with their application. In cases where the records are not provided, the application will be considered incomplete.

• Results of the ACT, SAT, IB, AP, English language proficiency tests, etc.
• Mid-year report with an updated transcript from senior year
• Supplementary documents like a link to previous work, research abstract, art, photography, etc. (only submit it as long as they genuinely contribute to the application!)

Applications for John Hoping University are often sent via Common Application or Apply Application on Scoir. So, besides all the demands listed above, Common Application demands certain materials like,

Tests required

While not compulsory in the Johns Hopkins admission requirements, the university encourages students to self-report scores on standardized tests. These include the ACT or SAT scores.

The applicants must state the highest grade in each section, and the university will calculate the final score during the application review. 

Additionally, the university does not mind students updating their SAT scores for different sections taken on different dates. As long as the test scores are high, they are recommended to report them!

Then, there comes the English proficiency test! 

Students with no background in the English language or who have not attended school with English as their instruction language in the last 3 years need to prove their fluency in the language. 

Moreover, applicants with scores less than 30 in ACT English and reading sections or less than 690 in the SAT reading and writing section must also pass English proficiency exams. 

The university accepts IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge English Exam, or the Duolingo English Test. 

The minimum scores required in each of these exams are as follows:

• IELTS: Higher than 7 on each band
• TOEFL (internet-based): Minimum 100 with 22 in Writing, 25 in Speaking, 26 in Listening, and 26 in Reading
• Cambridge English Exam: C1 or C2 proficiency with 185 scores or above
• Duolingo English test: Minimum score of 120 with 105 in Production, 120 in Conversation, 125 in Literacy, and 135 in Comprehension

Fulfilling Johns Hopkins admission criteria does not afford any student a foolproof guarantee of admission to the university. It takes a lot more than just doing the bare minimum!

• Keep GPA aim at a minimum of 3.9 scores. If schools believe in ranking, applicants must be in the top 10% of their class.
