Northeastern State University: Rankings, Courses & Admissions

The Cherokee Female Seminary's grounds, which now include more than 200 acres, were transformed into the Tahlequah campus. The seminary's original structure is now Seminary Hall, a facility for academic purposes. The campus is home to a large number of educational, research, living, and recreational facilities. A $10 million science centre was recently built by the university, with the money coming from bonds the university issued.

In its five colleges—Business & Technology, Liberal Arts, Education, Optometry, and Health & Science Professions—NSU offers 69 undergraduate degrees, 18 graduate degrees, and 13 pre-professional programs.

Applicants must pay a non-refundable application fee of $25. The fee can be paid online by the applicants. Every academic year, the university welcomes new students for the Fall and Spring semesters. 

The college accepts applications on a rolling basis following the deadlines for each semester. New applicants must mail their transcripts to the Office of International Programs. Applications must be submitted by July 1 for the Fall semester and by November 1 for the Spring semester. The university's financial aid application dates coincide with those for admissions.  For consideration for a scholarship, international students must have a minimum GPA of 2.75.

Exam Requirements for Northeastern State University

Every year, the university admits students from abroad to each of its three sites. 2% of the entire student body are international students. Candidates for undergraduate programs must have successfully finished their secondary education with a passing overall grade. Postgraduate applicants must additionally hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a related discipline. 

In contrast to ordinary applicants, international students must meet additional admission standards to be accepted into the university. English proficiency is required of all admitted overseas students at Northeastern State University. International students are required by the institution to submit their English proficiency test results as proof of fluency.
