One USP, Ranking, History

In 1986, SSU was founded in Portsmouth, near the Ohio River and became the newest University in the country and the most popular among Ohio residents. Their sports team have had great success over the years in a variety of men's and women's sports. With great academic performance over the years SSU has achieved the rank 50 US UNI; and 140 in QS World University Ranking 2023.

Accreditation

The ACEN Board of Commissioners' most recent accreditation result for the Associate Degree Nursing programme is Continuing Accreditation. The Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation has approved the university's programmes for educator preparation (CAEP). The Higher Learning Commission also confers accreditation on Shawnee State University. Shawnee State University is a small (uniRank enrollment range: 4,000–4,999 students) coeducational US higher education institution that has received official accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission.

University Campus, Facilities, Labs/Courses

One of several biggest institutions in the US, Ohio State has campuses in Columbus, Newark, Lima, Marion, Mansfield, and Wooster, as well as other cities around Ohio. The Clyde W. Clark Planetarium, a 1,139-seat theatre, and the James A. Rhodes Athletic Center, a cutting-edge athletic facility with a gymnasium, tennis courts, and a junior Olympic-size swimming pool, are additional amenities on the 52-acre site. The locals are friendly, and housing is not too pricey. Since it's a smaller town, the costs aren't particularly high. In addition, Shawnee State University provides students with a first-rate on-campus experience, complete with modern housing units, and first-rate facilities for healthcare and athletics, among many other advantages.

SSU You can pick a field of study that combines your interests and abilities among the more than 70 associate, bachelor, master, and doctorate degrees that are available. Public university Shawnee State puts students first and provides highly individualised, reasonably priced, and easily accessible education. There are six meta-majors, or groups of connected or related majors or programmes, that Shawnee State University has identified. That covers Undergraduate, Graduate, and Doctoral Programs. Health and medical administrative services (7.9%) receive the most intake, followed closely by biological sciences (5.6%) and registered nursing (5.6%).

Shawnee State University Acceptance Rate

With a sat score of 900 and 1150 or an ACT score of 17 and 23, it is seen that the general acceptance rate of the university is 94% as per the US NEWS. The percentage reflects the intake of both UG and PG programs. This makes the university very less selective in its admissions process and is easy to get enrolled given that all the minimum test score requirements are made.

Undergraduate Eligibility criteria

  • UG aspirants need to have completed their High school degree to be eligible
  • GPA and other test score grades are to be provided and need a grade range accepted by the college.
  • International students are required to provide English language assessment scores. 

Postgraduate Eligibility Criteria

  • Graduate candidates need at least a bachelor's degree from a recognized institution to be able to apply for a Master's program.
  • All test scores are to be met as mentioned below. 
  • Internation students must provide IELTS, and TOEFL to prove English language proficiency.

Note- Since SSU is open access, there is no minimum test score requirement for enrollment but showing competency through test scores is recommended for applicants.

Test scores required at SSU

  • IELTS: Bands 6 or higher.
  • ACT:  the combined ACT score on average is 20. The ACT score for the 25th percentile is 16, and the Overall grade for the 75th percentile is 24.
  • TOEFL: proof of a minimum Test of English as a Foreign Language score of 500 (on paper), 170 (on a computer), or 60 (on the internet) 
  • GPA: Minimum 3.3 out of a 4 Scale.

  • Receipt of application fees payment ($50 non-refundable)
  • Transcripts of High school or bachelor's degree as required by the selected course.
