Admission Eligibility Criteria

Texas Tech University has different admission eligibility criteria for Undergraduate and Postgraduate studies. 

Undergraduate

For undergraduate students, there are some admission requirements set by the University that are as follows. 

  • Application fees of $75 need to be paid via online. 
  • The 12th or equivalent standard degree from an approved school or degree college. 
  • A CGPA or overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required for undergraduate students. 
  • For international students, an IELTS score of 80 out of hundred is required as an English language efficiency test. 
  • After the approval of the application from the university authorities, students need to work with the university for the US student visa process. 

Postgraduate

For postgraduate students,  Texas Tech University has some particular requirements to meet when applying for master’s courses. 

  • All applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA (4-point scale) for the last 90 credits of coursework.
  • A 4-year undergraduate study must be done by the students in a well-reputed degree college or colleges approved by the university. The study should be done on the bachelor's degree of the subject the student wants to pursue in his higher studies. 
  •  For foreign students, the scores of the Test of English as a Foreign Language must be submitted with the application. The minimum score will have to be 80 or above in internet-based tests. The degree however cannot be used during the student visa application process as this is an online degree. 
  • There should be a statement of interest provided with the application form. In that statement, there should be a  succinct summary of the education, employment history, long-term career goals and how the degree program will help the student.
