Accreditation, Number of Students and Faculties

The Higher Learning Commission (HCL) accredits the Ohio State University. In 2015, the Board members of the HCL voted for consolidating the separate accreditations of the OSU Agricultural Technical Institute and the OSU into a single accreditation under the university. As of 2021-2022, the total number of enrollments was 67,772, while the Columbus Campus alone had 61,677 enrollments.

Admission Eligibility Criteria

Freshman admission requirements:

  • A freshman applicant is eligible if he/she is a high school graduate.
  • The applicant must never have enrolled at a university or college. 
  • The applicant must be a U.S. Resident. 

Graduate school admission requirements:

  • A four-year bachelor’s degree or an advanced degree or its equivalent from an accredited university or college, should be achieved within the expected entry date into the graduate program. 
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0 or its equivalent for the last bachelor’s degree or advanced degree. 
  • Transcripts and other required documents.
  • A standardized test score (GMAT or GRE) under certain circumstances.

Undergraduate 

  • Official high school transcripts and official copies of all examination certificates from the final four years. 
  • Official SAT and ACT scores. 
  • An optional letter of recommendation from a counselor or teacher. 
  • Official proof of English Language proficiency for international applicants.
  • Proof of financial support. 

Postgraduate

  • Official transcripts
  • Three letters of recommendation from people acquainted with the scholastic ability, academic programs and professional performance of the applicant. 
  • Standardized test scores like GMAT and GRE are required under certain circumstances. 
  • A curriculum vitae or a resume that should be no longer than 2 pages. 
  • Statement of purpose.
  • Additional application and documents are required such as writing samples, portfolios, departmental application or auditions.
