Accreditation, Number of Students and Faculties

The University of Texas Rio Grande is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to grant master's. Baccalaureate, specialist and doctoral degrees. All the nursing programmes are accredited by the Texas Board of Nursing.  Business and Entrepreneurship is accredited by AACSB and CCNE accredited agencies given accreditation to The School of Nursing. The University of Texas Rio Grande was developed by the Texas Legislature in 2013 after the consolidation of the  University of Texas-Pan American and Texas Southmost College. The former names were  Texas Southmost College and Edinburgh College. This university enrolled its first class in the fall of 2015 and the school of medicine opened in 2016. This university is ranked 36 in Top Performers on Social Mobility and 156 in Top Public Schools.

University Campus, Facilities, Labs and Courses

This university has 105 buildings with some other properties including educational and administration buildings and a library and labs. There are many facilities available in the campus area such as 24 hours emergency telephone service, a late-night car facility, day-night security services, and a health insurance scheme. There is a recreation centre for the students and also has stadiums for baseball, soccer, a fieldhouse and so on.  This university has many courses including undergraduate, postgraduate and many certification courses, post-doctoral courses and many online courses are also available here. There are many lab facilities provided by this university such as a coastal studies lab, clinical lab, marine biology lab, microbiology lab and so on.

The University of Texas Rio Grande admissions is selective with an acceptance rate of 93%. Half of the applicants admitted to this university have an SAT score between 930 and 1120 or an ACT score of 16 and 21. On the other hand, one-quarter of the admitted students achieved scores above these ranges and one-quarter scored below these ranges.

Admission Eligibility Criteria

Undergraduate 

For undergraduate programmes, a candidate's GPA is a very important academic factor. High school rank and recommendation letters are also required for this course. 

Postgraduate 

For postgraduate programmes, a candidate should have to submit undergraduate certificates with internship records. International students need TEFL and ILTS and TOEFL  is not accepted instead of SAT or ACT. Early decisions and early action are applicable here.
