In this segment Shebin shall discuss an algorithm, again based on hashing that has been used to prevent/limit email spam and denial-of-service measure. The name of the algorithm is Hash Cash. Let's see what it is in the next video.

So, hash cash is basically a proof of work the sender of an email has to do before sending an email. The sender has to calculate the hash of the email data and make sure that the calculated hash satisfies a particular condition. This limts the scope of spam emails. Please keep this technique in mind. This is because this is now being used in Blockchain Technology for something known as mining of blocks.
