Recommender Systems and Artificial Intelligence

Coming back to our e-commerce example, e-commerce websites suggest you the products that you might like. Some of these recommendations are surprisingly good. How is this accomplished?

In the following video, let's discuss briefly how a recommender system works.

Artificial Intelligence is essentially teaching a machine to think like a human. It is surprisingly difficult. Suppose you are watching a cricket match. You can look at the eyes of the batsman and know what shot he will play. Now if you can train a machine to predict the same, you can imagine what a big breakthrough that is. That is Artificial Intelligence.
