In the previous segment, you learnt about the various ways you can derive new columns on which you would be performing the five patterns. Now, you’ll learn about the other way of summarising the information a dataset has to offer- by collapsing the rows.

Note: Correlation as a concept would be taught in detail in a future module. For now, a basic understanding of what correlation does i.e. measures the strength of the relationship between two variables is sufficient. The value generally ranges between -1 to 1. A higher positive correlation would indicate a positive influence of the variables on each other. For example, if you find that the correlation between the sales of Product A and Product B is 0.7, then you can say that they sell well together.
