$$/$$

Let’s summarise all the concepts covered in this course. In the next video, Rakesh will walk you through all the approaches discussed so far:

$$/$$

We began our journey by understanding the basics of communication in the 21st century and how you can apply these at the workplace to become an efficient communicator across different channels.

After this, the written and oral communication channels were covered in detail. In written communication, you learnt about the elements of email, report, proposal and summary writing. Oral communication covered the concepts of public speaking, building confidence, overcoming glossophobia, communication frameworks, storytelling, and persuasion and presentation skills.

Then, you moved on to interpersonal communication or how you can interact with other people. Rakesh gave us some valuable tips and techniques to achieve effective interpersonal communication and the best practices followed at workplaces.

Throughout the course, the six C concepts were discussed in detail. The six Cs stand for the following:

  • Confidence - It will help you become an effective communicator across different channels.
  • Communicate - It is about structuring your thought process, building a strong argument based on deep scientific research, and a simple way to explain an argument or thought.
  • Collaborate - This will help you overcome your anxiety and social fear and effectively network with people in an interpersonal setting.
  • Curiosity - You must be research-driven and be able to learn various concepts and topics so as to structure your ideas. This will help you build your cognitive skills.
  • Creativity - You must be creative in communicating across different channels. The output can be portrayed through your oral communication, presentations, written or interpersonal communication.
  • Competency - All the aforementioned concepts will help you demonstrate your competence and capability to others.

To conclude, communication skills can be best learnt through practice. Therefore, to become an impeccable communicator across different communication channels, you need to apply all the concepts that have been covered in this course every day in your personal as well as professional lives.
