During informal discussions at the workplace, it is important to be both cordial and proud of your achievements and accomplishments. Hence, it is recommended that you ace the quality of ‘softened confidence’ while discussing such achievements.
Displaying ‘softened confidence’ does not necessarily mean that you have a set of phrases for each type of situation that you want to talk about. In the next video, David will explain some of the cliched statements that should be better avoided in such conversations.
Avoiding cliched statements such as ‘Break down the silos’ or sports references such as ‘Tee it up’ is imperative. Using such phrases may risk your chance of being properly understood by your recipient. You could also be considered unsympathetic and difficult to understand.
