Tips to Polish Your Stories

Now that you are well acquainted with all the frameworks, it is time to apply them to reach the final product. You must have definitely seen some of the world's greatest political leaders deliver highly rated speeches. Behind every great speaker, is a great speechwriter! The more we practice on ourselves, the better we become at speech writing.   

 

In this segment, Rakesh will explain how to apply all the frameworks we learnt so far in speech writing to the extent of carving a profession out of it. Let’s get started.

  • Keep in mind the following four frameworks of speech writing: 
    • Audience-Objective-Message (AOM)
    • Opening-Body-Conclusion (OBC)
    • AEIOUxE framework
    • OSCRE framework 
  • Remember these tips to write better:
    • Hone your strengths: Work on your strengths and write in the language with which you are most comfortable.
    • Take feedback: Write a demo speech and take feedback from your friends, colleagues or family members to know where any scope of improvement lies.
    • Keep practising: Practice regularly to improve your writing skills.
    • Do not give up: Never look down upon yourself and always keep moving forward, tackling all the challenges that you face along the way. You will surely be able to do a lot better.
