In the previous segment, you looked at the different service models. Now, in this segment, you will learn about various deployment models. Deployment models are defined based on the location of the infrastructure. Let’s hear from Siben, in the next video, wherein he explains the different types of deployment models and their examples.
In this video, you looked at the different deployment models. The different deployment models are Private, Public, Hybrid and Multi-Cloud.
Private Cloud is owned completely by a single organisation, which is similar to an on-premise service model. The entire cloud is located in the customer’s on-premise data centre and offers high control over data security and confidentiality.
In Public Cloud, the entire cloud services are owned by the cloud service providers. All the hardware and infrastructure are also located in different parts of the world. The cloud resources are shared by multiple customers, and you can access these resources using a web console provided by the cloud service providers.
Hybrid Cloud is a combination of private cloud and public cloud. Some part of the infrastructure is managed by the organisation and the rest is managed by cloud service providers. This enables easy movement between the clouds as per the requirements.
In Multi-Cloud, organisations turn to multiple cloud providers. It offers flexibility in choosing the right cloud provider for the right use case and also allows organisations to choose the cloud provider that offers them the lowest price for the services.
Public Cloud - You can read about the public cloud and its advantages.
Hybrid Cloud - You can read more about hybrid cloud and its benefits along with some use cases.
Now, in the next segment, you will learn about the characteristics of cloud computing.
