Welcome to this session on ‘Elements of Voice’. In the previous session, you learnt about the various elements of body language that are essential in communicating effectively. However, to complete your speech, you will need to strengthen your voice. Even though the elements of voice essentially refer to the way in which words are spoken, they form an integral part of non-verbal communication. They are categorised as non-verbal communication because they do not refer to what you speak but how you speak. They indicate the truthfulness, assertiveness and confidence of the person speaking and hence are essential for effective communication.
